Two more deaths, just 15 positive cases, 36 recoveries Friday

Imphal: In the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm Friday in Manipur, two person , a 63 year-old male from Ukhrul and a 60 year-old male from Imphal west expired at RIMS and Shija Hospital respectively taking the state’s cumulative fatality tally to 369.


During the same period, 15 persons (6 males and 9 females) from the general population tested Covid-19 positive, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.


The 15 persons who tested positive from the general population include 5 from Imphal West, 3 from Thoubal, 2 each from Kangpokpi and Churachandpur and 1 from Imphal East. All of them are locals with no significant travel history.


Meanwhile, 36 persons were discharged from Home Isolation and various CCCs of the state. 29 of them are from Home Isolation, 4 from SHRI and 1 each from Rajmed, TK Ukhrul and DH Churachandpur.


The cumulative number of positive cases is 28,953 (General Population — 25,534 and Central Security Personnel — 3,419). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 28,387 (General Population — 24,980 and Central Security Personnel — 3,407). The number of active cases is 197 (general population 189 and CAPF 8). The recovery rate is 98.04 %, the release added.
