Jammu: The two-day Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory Fencing Championship concluded on Saturday at New Indoor Complex, Maulana Azad Stadium here.
The championship was organized by Adhoc Committee of J&K Amateur Fencing Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council wherein more than 260 fencers from various districts participated.
In his Opening remarks, Sharma congratulated the medal winners and motivated them for future participation in sports and distributed medals among them.
Member J&K Sports Council, Rajiv Sharma was the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony while Prof Yash Paul Sharma was the Guest of Honour.
Convener Adhoc Committee, Rashid Choudhary thanked Nuzhat Gul, Secretary J&K Sports Council for providing infrastructure and modern fencing equipment.
Bhisham Singh Slathia acted as Competition Director while Adarsh Slathia as Organising Secretary.
The Championship was held under the supervision of Rachna Jamwal, Senior Coach, Shotu Lal (Instructor) while the matches were conducted by Mokshi Sharma, Ajay Khartol, Maninder Pal Singh,Tony Mattoo, Suniya Mattoo, Javed Ahmed, Mohd. Tariq, Ranchan Sabarwal, Rahul Sharma, Vir Sangram, Teja Singh, Abdul Rafiq, Ankush Gupta and Vishal Thapar
Others present on the occasion were Satish Gupta, Manager Indoor Hall, Col Vikram Singh Jamwal, Former International Fencer, Anil Gupta, Ajay Gupta, Kabaddi Coach, Supriya Chouhan and Maninder Pal Singh, Member Adhoc Committee.
