Patna: Concerned over the death of infants and children due to Pneumonia, Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey said on Thursday that his department was finalising a detailed work plan to check the death of kids due to the disease.
Pandey said here that a detailed work plan in this connection was being finalised and efforts were being made under Social Awareness and Action to Neutralise Pneumonia Successfully ( SAANS) to eradicate the disease. He said to accelerate the pace of the scheme, the health workers were continuously being trained.
Outlining the future strategies, Pandey said the health workers of 14 districts would be trained to combat the disease under the scheme.
To attain the target by January 31, the training programme would be taken up in phases of 36 different batches. The health minister said the scheme SAANS was initiated by the centre in 2020 to check the death among children due to pneumonia.
