Ambassa: CPI-M Dhalai District Secretary Pankaj Chakraborty claimed the ADC election to be the fight to restore the democratic environment in the state.
He expressed his opinion recently at his residence at Kulai here.
The ace politician expressed his views regarding the ongoing ADC election and the stand of his party.
Replying to the question of his view on this time’s ADC election with so many parties and coalitions in the fray he replied, “Actually, the presence of different political parties and coalitions is not an important issue. The most important matter is that the election is going to be held in completely different conditions. In last three years, the democratic environment is ruined very consciously and the voice of the opposition is being suppressed. The election, to the leftist, is a fight to restore democracy”.
Regarding the issues of the Left front in the election, Chakraborty replied, “The issues are the necessities of life. In the last three years, the incumbent BJP-IPFT government has not performed any of their promises. The basic needs of life are neglected as well as the basic structures of democracy are ruined. And we are going to the people with these issues”.
Whether there is a nexus between BJP coalition and Tipra Motha coalition to make the CPIM away from power, he replied, “There are many indications of that fact. And we are conspicuous that the different political parties and their candidates are to help the BJP-IPFT candidates”.
About the possibility of the Left front candidates in the election, Chakraborty said, “We are hopeful about our victory. But there are some issues and conditions. In the anti-democratic conditions how much our candidate could reach the people and how much fearlessly people could cast their franchise are the most important aspects”.
The fearless move of the leftist leaders and activists would play the most deciding factor, according to the political analysts here.
