Agartala:  After a break of a month and half four persons have been found infected with Covid-19 in Tripura on Thursday while testing as many as 403 samples.

Two of them were from West Tripura and two from Unakoti district but did not have any history of visiting outside the state, the health officials said.

“They were found having mild symptoms and being treated at home. It believes they have been infected locally. With the symptoms of influenza and fever, they came to the local hospital and as a standard protocol, Covid19 test was carried out and found infected,” said a health official.

Earlier, three cases of Covid positive were reported on May 6 this year but had no complaint of any complications. Afterwards, the daily infection rate was reduced to below one and so far 1.9 lakh people in Tripura have been infected with coronavirus while death cases were reported at 920.

Although it was not made mandatory to wear a face mask in public places in the state, the administration has been insisting on wearing a face cover mask, especially in local trains, schools and crowded places while advising people to go for testing in case of influenza-like symptoms, officials added.
