Udaipur: Tripura’s Gomati District, where the state’s first COVID-19 case was detected during the first wave, has started a large vaccination drive with cent per cent support of health workers, teachers and political leaders.
Sharing this information in course of conversation with Kiran Bhowmik, a UNI Stringer, the high officials source of Gomati District’s health administration said the works started with 20,000 vaccination which includes 13,000 vaccinations at Udaipur Municipal areas and 8,000 vaccination at Amarpur Nagar Panchayat areas under the age group of 18-44 years.
The vaccination which started on Thursday will be continued on Friday by the Gomati District administration under the leadership of general administration of Gomati District with the help of 40 numbers ASHA workers, government officials like teachers, engineers of RD & PWD and others.
The sources in Gomati District administration said a total of 20 polling stations at Udaipur Municipal areas and nine at polling stations at Amarpur Nagar Panchayat areas have been installed for COVID-19 vaccination and containment measures are also being implemented in order to control the second wave of COVID-19.
A few days ago, DM & Collector of Gomati District attended the meeting at Amarpur and Udaipur with the top officials of the district administration including MLAs and directed to make a plan for large vaccination by all to administer COVID-19 vaccination in view to strictly ensure all precautions to control the situation.
Amid the slow rising cases, the district administration has involved teachers in the vaccination process for data entry works and also monitoring the situation according to the instruction given by the higher ups of the department of health.
On Thursday, a high officials source of CMO office which falls under Udaipur Subdivision of Tripura’s Gomati District said an initiative was taken to control the situation and started different training for ASHA workers, teachers and others to administer the vaccination process under Udaipur and Amarpur subdivision areas.
An awareness camp for COVID-19 vaccination has been started in district and wearing face masks in public places & offices have been made necessary by the Government of Tripura.
Referring the cent(100) per cent vaccination goal of government, the Gomati District administration has taken all the necessary steps and making face cover mandatory in all public places as well as work places.
