Tripura gets good response to investment call in health & education: CM

Addressing dental surgeons here, the CM said Tripura has a vision of a new horizon of development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the BJP-led government came to power in 2018, and over the last six years, the state has witnessed exponential growth in infrastructure and communication.

Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Monday reiterated that his government has been getting expressions of interest from various groups in different parts of the country to invest in the health and education sector of Tripura.
Addressing dental surgeons here, the CM said Tripura has a vision of a new horizon of development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the BJP-led government came to power in 2018, and over the last six years, the state has witnessed exponential growth in infrastructure and communication.
“Tripura is redefined for the rest of the world, highlighting its unique features, strengths, potential, and resources, which evoked the interest of investors to participate in the development initiatives of the government,” Dr Saha pointed out.
He said various organisations from outside Tripura were expressing interest in establishing educational and health institutions in the state after seeing the positive changes in governance, administrative functioning, and the ease of doing business.
A long-standing dream of the people of the state has been fulfilled by establishing Agartala Government Dental College, National Forensic University, National Law University and a couple of other universities with modern courses, which are milestones in the field of higher education in Tripura, he underlined.
“We are aspiring to turn the state into a medical and educational hub, and we are getting a good response. The new initiatives like the Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana, similar to the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya, at an outlay of Rs 59 Cr,” Dr Saha stated.
Adequate allocation has been made in the budget for the construction of 100 sub-health centers this year, along with upgrading the service facilities for critical care in all district hospitals, and super specialties for critical treatment have been functioning in Agartala Govt Medical College, claiming that referral cases from Tripura to outside have also been reduced substantially now.
