Tripura CM tests positive for Covid-19

Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha was tested Covid-19 positive on Wednesday an hour ahead of his scheduled visit to Guwahati in the afternoon and then to New Delhi on Friday.

Dr Saha stated in his social media handle, “I have been tested Covid-19 positive today. I am absolutely fit and fine with no symptoms. I humbly request all those who have come in contact  with me to take necessary precaution.”

According to sources, the Chief Minister had gone voluntarily for Covid test.

The Chief Minister in the morning along with BJP MLA Dr Dilip Das, District Magistrate Debapriya Bardhan and other health officials inaugurated the biggest Pressure swing adsorption oxygen generating plant of Northeast at IGM hospital in the city.

It was set up with the UNDP funding having a capacity of 1050 liters per minute of oxygen production.

The Chief Minister Dr Saha had hosted dinner for his cabinet colleagues, MLAs, BJP leaders and his close associates on Tuesday night to celebrate his entry into the newly built CM Bungalow. 

The most modern CM house construction was begun by former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar while finishing and furnishing were done by Biplab Kumar Deb.
