Agartala:  Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Monday filed his nomination for the forthcoming Town Bardowali Assembly bye-election.

Assembly bypolls in four seats in Tripura are scheduled on June 23.

“Today, I have submitted nomination paper to the Returning Officer as the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate from 8-Town Bardowali Assembly Constituency,” Saha wrote in a social media post shortly after filing his nomination.

The chief minister also sought blessings of the voters so that he can work relentlessly for the welfare of the state.

Saha recently took over after Biplab Kumar Deb quit the post.

For the Tripura bye-elections, the saffron party has appointed its national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, Assam Minister Ashok Singhal and Political Secretary to Chief Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah as poll incharges.
