Training on special intensive revision (SIR) held

Kangpokpi: The Kangpokpi District Administration held Special Intensive Revision (SIR) – Phase III  meeting  under the direction of Election Commission of India today at the  Conference Hall in DC Office Complex. The Kangpokpi District has 3(three) Assembly Constituencies namely 46 Saikul, 51 Saitu and 50 Kangpokpi.

Special Intensive Revision (SIR) is a participative exercise involving all stakeholders including electors, political parties and election officials. Election Commission of India(ECI) request all political parties to appoint Booth Level Agents(BLA) in order to ensure full participation of political parties so that SIR is conducted with complete transparency and full participation of political parties.

During the programme, training sessions for Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs/ACROs) and election officials were conducted on 23rd May by Master Trainers, focusing on revision procedures, electoral responsibilities and guidelines related to the Special Intensive Revision process. Subsequently, on Monday, 25th May, training programmes for Booth Level Supervisors (BLSs) and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) were also conducted to strengthen preparedness at the grassroots level. Officials who were unable to attend the sessions physically were imparted training through video conferencing to ensure wider participation and effective dissemination of guidelines. Altogether, more than 70 officials and staff participated in the training process. The programme aimed at enhancing the knowledge and capacity of election functionaries for efficient, transparent and smooth conduct of electoral processes in the district.
