Kakching: As part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, a ‘Tiranga Yatra’ marathon was held at the DC Office Complex in Kakching district on Monday. The District Administration Kakching led by Deputy Commissioner Rohit Anand, flagged off the marathon from the DC Office Complex.
A total number of 143 students participated in the marathon. 113 boys and 30 girls from Irengband High School, Kakching Khunou Makha High School, Kakching Model High School, JRD Pathseekers’ Academy, Padma Ratna English School, Kakching Higher Secondary School and MMS Genius Academy participated in today’s marathon.
Participating students covered the distance upto Kakching Sumak Leikai before returning back to the starting point. A ‘Tiranga’ pledge was also taken during the event. On the other hand, the District Level Officers (DLOs) and other officials also participated in the event and cheered for the students.
In the girls category of the marathon, RK Malemnganbi, Class IX of Kakching Higher Secondary School secured the first place followed by Oinam Albina Devi, Class VIII of MMS Genius Academy took the second place and Sapam Abenao Devi, Class IX of JRD Pathseekers’ Academy came in the third place.
In the boy’s category, Naorem Rajen, Class XI of Kakching Higher Secondary School came first, Thingna Gattakumar Singh, Class IX of Kakching Khunou Government High School took the second place and Sougaijam Malemnganba Singh, Class XII of Kakching Higher Secondary School secured the third place.
The prizes will be distributed on August 15.
