Kamjong: Assam Rifles conducted a series of community-centric initiatives across Phaikoh and Kamtong in Kamjong district, reinforcing its commitment to local development, youth empowerment, and civil-military harmony.
As part of its educational outreach, a Hindi language class was organised for non-Hindi speaking students at Primary School, Phaikoh, on 29 September 2026. Designed to build basic language skills and encourage interest in Hindi, the session introduced 40 participating students to the Hindi alphabet, letter identification, pronunciation, and simple daily communication words and phrases. Utilizing an interactive, activity-based approach, the initiative boosted student confidence and communication skills, paving the way for better national integration in remote border regions while deepening mutual trust between Assam Rifles, educators, and local students.
Simultaneously, a civic outreach programme titled ‘A Day with Company Commander’ was held with Village Authorities at Kamtong on 29 September 2026. The interaction focused on key local priorities, including security, development, education, healthcare, sanitation, and the overall welfare of the local population. The forum provided a direct platform to exchange views, address community concerns, refine coordination and maintain peace and harmony in the area, with Assam Rifles reaffirming its commitment to grassroots development and the Village Authorities expressing gratitude for the sustained support.
Building on this momentum of engagement, a friendly volleyball match was organised at Phaikoh village on 29 September 2026. Bringing together local youth, students and troops, the match witnessed enthusiastic participation and promoted physical fitness, teamwork, and sporting excellence among young people. The sporting event provided an informal platform for meaningful interaction, further consolidating mutual trust and goodwill between the residents of Phaikoh and Assam Rifles.
