Three more deaths Monday takes Manipur’s cumulative tally to 1,937

Two of the three persons who succumbed to the deadly virus are from Imphal West while one is from Ukhrul. All three persons who expired had co-morbidities and one of them had taken any dose of Covid vaccination.

Imphal: In the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Monday, Manipur reported three more Covid related deaths, taking the state’s cumulative death toll 1,937. During the same period, there were 51 new positive cases (49 from the general population and 2 from CAPF) while 44 persons recovered and were discharged, as per an official release from the health department.

Two of the three persons who succumbed to the deadly virus are from Imphal West while one is from Ukhrul. All three persons who expired had co-morbidities and one of them had taken any dose of Covid vaccination.

Of the 49 persons who tested positive from the general population, 21 of them are from Imphal West,  13 from Imphal East, seven from Bishnupur, three each from Kamjong and Kakching and one each from Churachandpur and Thoubal.

Altogether, 1,689 persons were tested giving a positivity rate of 3.0 %.

Meanwhile, 44 persons recovered and were discharged, 19 of them from home isolation, 22 from CCCs, one from JNIMS and two from RIMS. The recovery rate in the state now stands at 97.88 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 1, 24,137 out of which 1,21,501 have recovered leaving 699 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on November 7, 2021, is 2,504, the cumulative number of doses administered is 20,07,056 (1st dose 12,53,298, 2nd dose 7,53,754).
