Three held in Manipur with banned drugs

Imphal: Three persons were apprehended by police for alleged involvement in drug trafficking. 

Police on Friday said two persons were nabbed by Manipur Police with 33,800 banned tablets here.  According to Police, the two persons identified as Md. Askar Husain and Md. Shahabuddin were nabbed at Canchipur. 

A parcel sent to one Gopal Sarkar by one Habbeb was found and when checked police found, Clavitol-50, Tramadol Hcl. Capsules I.P 50 mg, marked as “A” and “B” respectively.  

Altogether 3380 strips of Clavitol-50 and Tramadol Hcl. Capsules I.P 50 mg were found. As the items were in the schedule of NDPS Act, the items were seized and the two persons were arrested on the spot after observing due formalities.  

As a follow up action, the owner of the consignment Gopal Sarkar was arrested by Moreh Police .
