Three-day U-19 girls’ sports competition begins at Rehlu & Dugiyari

226 girl students from 23 schools in Shahpur zone and 246 girl students from 27 schools in Kangra zone will participate in the competition.

Shahpur: A three-day sports competition started for under-19 girl students of Shahpur Zone at Rehlu and Kangra Zone at Dugiyari on Friday, and the tournament was inaugurated by local MLA Kewal Singh Pathania.

226 girl students from 23 schools in Shahpur zone and 246 girl students from 27 schools in Kangra zone will participate in the competition.

The girl students will showcase their skills in Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, badminton, and volleyball during the competition.
On the occasion, MLA Shahpur Kewal Pathania said that, along with studies, sports have special importance in a student’s life.
Sports develop discipline, patience, and leadership qualities in life.

He said all students should actively participate in sports along with their studies.
He said the present government is taking effective steps to promote sports in government educational institutions, and special emphasis is also being laid on constructing sports grounds so that sports talents can get opportunities to progress.
He announced that he would give Rs 11 thousand to Rehlu School and asked to quickly prepare an estimate of the boundary wall and four rooms of the school so that the rooms could be constructed in a phased manner.
Earlier, school principal Rishu Samayal welcomed the chief guest and provided detailed information about the sports competition.
Whereas in Dugyari, DSSA Block President Ranjit Singh and Principal Shakti Prasad welcomed the chief guest.

On this occasion, Principal Rehlu Seema Devi, Principal Rakesh Sharma, Vice Principal Rachiyalu, Mukhtyar, the principals of various schools, DP, PET, and all the members of the local schools were present.

Staff, parents of children, other local dignitaries, and school children were also present.
