Kolkata: The All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) has sought permission for stay and accommodation from Delhi Police to set up pandals and tents for about 50,000 people at Ram Lila Maidan from September 30 to October 4, 2023.
AITC’s Rajya Sabha leader and spokesman for the party, Derek O’Brien, wrote a letter to the DCP, Darya Ganj Police Station, on Friday, saying that his earlier two such letters (dated August 30 and August 31) have not been responded to so far.
The AITC has decided to hold dharnas at different places with some 50,000 MGNREGA workers, whose demands have not met so far.
Brien has requested Delhi Police for an update on permission at the Ram Lila Maidan at the earliest.
