Imphal: As part of War on Drugs 2.0, teams of Kakching Police Thursday detected and seized suspected Heroin no.4 powder.
The said seizure was made from one Maruti Van (white in colour) bearing Registration No. AR03-3555 which was coming from Pallel side, at the Leimanai Chingjin CDO check-post.
The driver and the occupants of the vehicle were detained for verification, they were identified as: Paominlal Misao (20 yrs) son of Thangjang Misao of T. Tonglhang, S.Khudengthabi,Moreh,Tengnoupal District; Lhunkhopao Baite (33 yrs) son of Tongkhoson Baite of Moreh, H.Wanomjang village,Tengnoupal District and Lamkholhing (61yrs) wife of Onkhongam of HT. Gamnomphai village, Moreh, Tengnoupal District.
The detained persons along with the said vehicle were searched after observing legal formalities. From the vehicle, 55 (Fifty-Five) soap cases containing suspected (Heroin No.4) powder was detected concealed in the modified fuel tank of the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle and its occupants were arrested after observing all formalities. On weighing, the suspected Heroin (No.4) powder was found to weigh approximately 689 ( Six Hundred Eighty-Nine) grams in total.
The arrested persons along with the seized articles were handed over to OC, Kakching Police Station for taking up further necessary legal action, said a press note from the PRO Cell, Manipur Police.
