Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and PMK President and Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss on Sunday lauded Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra for winning a silver medal in the World Athletics Championships at Eugene. In a tweet, Stalin said, “Neeraj Chopra has scripted history once again!”.

“Congratulations on becoming only the second Indian and first Indian male athlete to win a medal at World Athletics Championships”, he said.

“India is proud of the consistent excellence he has been achieving on the biggest stage!”, Stalin said.

In a tweet, Anbumani said “congratulations to Neeraj for hurling the javelin to a distance of 88.13 m and winning a silver medal”.

He said winning the first medal in World Championship after a gap of 18 years was a proud moment for all Indians.
