The Speaker urged all leaders to encourage debate and discussions instead of disruptions. He also said people’s issues can be addressed only when the House functions and debates happen.

Marred by protests and repeated adjournments, the House was adjourned sine die, two days ahead of the schedule.

Birla has expressed anguish over the continuing protests, with MPs trooping near the Speaker’s podium raising slogans and showing placards.

The Monsoon Session that started on July 19, was scheduled to end on August 13.
