Imphal: Assam Rifles troops seized smuggled goods worth about Rs 3.5 cr at Tengnoupal district on Tuesday.

Officials said the Tengnoupal battalion foiled cross border smuggling of illegal textile items near Chamol village, Tengnoupal district.

Based on information regarding the dumping of textile items, Assam Rifles troops searched the jungle area near Chamol village and recovered 60 bags of foreign origin illegal textile items worth Rs 3.50 Crores.

The recovered items were handed over to Custom Prevention Force, Pallel, for further action.
