Gangtok: Chief Patron of the Strength Lifting Association and Minister for Forest Karma Loday, on Wednesday lauded Pema Dorjee, Strength Lifter for being selected as the National Awardee in the discipline.
Minister stated that on November 27 & 28 a State level Championship will be hosted by the Association at Namchi, Sumo’s Gym.
More than100 athletes are expected to participate. The focus is mainly to divert youth towards healthy games.
Pema Dorjee Bhutia, Chief Coach cum Technical Director said, “The thought of getting the National Award is like winning an International Championship”.
Allen Targain, Working President and Chandra Kala Rai, General Secretary also highlighted the upcoming programme at Namchi.
