Gangtok: Sikkim Chief Minister P S Tamang on Saturday underwent surgery at a hospital in Northern West Bengal’s Siliguri.
The Chief Minister later said it was a “minor surgery” and he was in good health. Tamang said he would resume his responsibilities on Monday. He, however, did not give any information on the exact nature of the problem that prompted him to go under the surgeon’s knife.
“I suddenly encountered discomfort necessitating my admission to a hospital in Siliguri,for a minor surgery. Presently I am in good health.I intend to resume my responsibilities commencing the day after tomorrow,” said the CM, from his hospital bed. UNI NN SSP.
Earlier he had visited a monastery in Mirik and met the Rimpochey there.
