Sikkim CM appeal to turn off lights from 8.30 to 9.30 supporting Earth Hour Movement

Gangtok: Chief Minister PS Tamang, on Saturday appealed to all the people to turn off the lights in their house, tonight from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm in support of Earth Hour Movement.

‘Earth Hour is a worldwide initiative organised by the World-Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), encouraging individuals communities and businesses to turn off non essential electric lights for an hour,’ said CM PS Tamang. He said that this is how we can protect nature as we rely on nature for our own survival. We must consider these steps to sustainably use these resources and transfer these to the next generation.This year’s theme is ‘Speak up for Nature.’
