Gangtok: Sikkim Government has closed down Govt offices and public sector enterprises till 30th April, as well as booking in Sikkim Houses in Delhi, Kolkata and Assam for containment of Corona related issues.
Ruling SKM party functionaries and Panchayats are all set to generate awareness among the public at the behest of Chief Minister PS Tamang from 1st May’21. Additional Political Secretary, Tshering Wangchuk Lepcha, speaks to this reporter about What & Why of it.
Tsshering Wangchuk Lepcha said though the Govt is doing all possible People should have faith in ‘My health is my Responsibility.’
‘State Govt has closed down offices till 30th for sanitization.Today there are 97 positive cases so far,so closing is an effort to curb Corona to cut down the rate of spreading of Pandemic.It is a global problem which we are also facing,’ said APS Tshering Wangchuk Lepcha.
‘Under the leadership of Chief Minister PS Tamang,Health sector has been given priority.Free vaccination has been made available for those of 45 years and above.The eligible are expected to be responsible enough and get vaccinated ,as also appealed by CM PS Tamang.From 1st May’21 those 18 years and above will get the Jab,’ added Wangchuk.
He has advised the public not to believe in rumors circulating about vaccination reducing Immunity .People should have faith in ‘Dawai bhi Kadhai bhi,’ the call given nationally ( by PM Narendra Modi).
According to Wangchuk ,Yoga is the best for boosting immunity. Everyone should ensure maintaining social distance.
‘As the President Ramnath Kovind has said, ‘People of Sikkim are not only beautiful ,but dutiful also’. Our citizens are responsibly dutiful.They have been following Standard Operating Procedures ( SOPs) to avoid Corona. Hardly 5% are possibly not following the norms,they are urged to understand and keep safe. Their Health is their Responsibility!
