It was bought by two women from the same family. One of them was named Kiran Kanwar. This very instance caused mayhem not just in the village but around the state as well when the news spread far and wide. When the Excise Department heard of this bizarre bid, they were speechless as they did not expect it to go this high, timesnownews.com reported.

As soon as the auction ended, the department initiated the proceedings. Kanwar, the new owner, has to pay two per cent of the shop’s cost to the authorities. However, they are still trying to make sense of what just took place.

As stated by the news organization, the shop was auctioned at Rs 65 lakh last year. Hence, the bidding began from Rs 70 lakh.

Auction of liquor shops is a common custom in Rajasthan. At the moment, virtual bidding is taking place for 7,665 such shops in the state. Earlier, this system was abolished by ex-chief minister Vasundhara Raje. However, the current CM Ashok Gehlot restarted this again.
