Senapati: A preparatory meeting for the forthcoming 80th Independence Day Celebration was held today at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner, Senapati, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Senapati, Dharun Kumar S, IAS.
The meeting reviewed the various arrangements required for the smooth and successful conduct of the district-level Independence Day celebration. Discussions, led by Adahrii Maheo, MCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Senapati, who is the overall in-charge of the celebration, focused on inter-departmental coordination, security arrangements, venue preparation, parade management, cultural programmes, traffic regulation, medical assistance, sanitation, power and water supply, and other logistical requirements. A district-wide cleanliness drive will also be undertaken as part of the preparations.
During the meeting, all District Level Officers were instructed to submit the names of deserving staff members for the award of Commendation Certificates in recognition of their outstanding service. It was also informed that two football matches will be organised as part of the Independence Day celebration.
Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner urged all departments to work in close coordination and complete their assigned responsibilities well in advance to ensure that the 80th Independence Day Celebration is conducted in a befitting, peaceful and successful manner.
The meeting was attended by Shaikh Mohd Zaib Zakir, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Senapati; Shanngam S, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer; PP Ronald, MCS, Project Director, DRDA; Sub-Divisional Officers; District Level Officers; and representatives of various government departments, who shared inputs relating to the arrangements under their respective departments.
