Senapati: The District Election Officer, Senapati successfully conducted an Orientation Programme and consultative meeting with the district’s Civil Society Organizations regarding the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR)- 2026 today at the DC Conference Hall, Block- A, Mini Secretariat, Senapati.
The primary objective of the initiative was to encourage stakeholders in the participation of the SIR 2026 exercise by familiarizing them with vital procedures of filling up of Enumeration Forms, various types of documents that may be required to be submitted, rationalizing of polling stations, filing and disposal of claims and objections, integrating digital tools like the Aadhaar- based e-sign facility etc.
Welcoming the gathering, Dharun Kumar S, DEO/ Deputy Commissioner of Senapati, Dharun Kumar S deliberated extensively on the significance of the ongoing SIR 2026. Emphasizing the necessity of SIR, he urged the district stakeholders to extend awareness campaigns to the remotest region to ensure no eligible voter is left out in the Enumeration list. He further appealed to the CSOs to coordinate closely with their respective BLOs and EROs noting that community cooperation is essential for the success of both the SIR 2026 and upcoming nationwide exercises like the Census.
The Deputy District Election Officer of Senapati, S. Lunguiba Thangal highlighted on the tentative timeline of the ongoing SIR 2026 w.r.t 1st July 2026 as the qualifying date. He reiterated that proactive community leadership is vital to achieving an inclusive electoral roll. Detailed instructions were provided on filling up the enumeration form using 2005 electoral as the base year through the website http://voters.eci.gov.in and https://ceomanipur.nic.in or contact their concerned BLOs. He reminded that public enquiries can be made through the official toll-free number, 1950.
Besides, the EROs and AEROs presented also supplemented the discussion on executing the ongoing exercises meticulously to prevent voters from facing disenfranchisement, which could complicate subsequent civic activities.
The programme was attended by S. Lunguiba Thangal, ERO 47- Karong (ST) AC, Rang David Kung, ERO 48- Mao (ST) AC, Pf. Lophro, ERO 49- Tadubi (ST) AC and its AEROs, Election Officials and CSOs comprising of NPO, SDSA, SDWA, Presidents of all Tribe Union including Tribe Women Union.
