Imphal: As many as 977 people were administered with Covid vaccine in a single day in the Sekmai Assembly constituency, the fastest so far in the Imphal West district, on Wednesday.
The mass vaccination programme was conducted at Hindi Secondary School, Kanglatongbi and Lairenkabi village as a part of the ongoing mobile vaccination campaign under the aegis of local MLA Heikham Dingo Singh.
While supervising the mass vaccination campaign, MLA Dingo, also Co convener, Joint Committee on Covid-19, appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his resolute effort to end the dreaded pathogen, which has spread like a wildfire across the country. People from all sections of society have now expressed their deep respect for the Prime Minister for facilitating free rations and moreover free vaccines for all, Dingo added.
The Sekmai MLA said that every Manipuri should also give a round of applause to the Biren Singh-led state government for its sheer determination and commitment to help the people in a state which has no meaningful natural resources.
Dingo then said that the Covid vaccination drive in the AC will be intensified to cover more people.
Continuing that vaccinating over 970 individuals from a single AC in a day is noteworthy, the MLAÂ thanked Imphal West DC, SDO Lamshang, Covid frontline workers and others who aided in the drive.
