Scrutiny of nominations for Municipal Election concludes

Gangtok: Scrutiny of all the nomination papers filed for Municipal ,Nagar Panchayats and Council has concluded,today in all the four Districts of Sikkim. 137 nomination papers for 27 wards in East have been scrutinized in the office of Municipal Returning Officer East ,Ragul K. Out of nominations of 91 Candidates for Gangtok Municipal Corporation 89 were found valid and 2 rejected from Lower Sichey and Lower MG Marg –Lal Bazar .While for Singtam all the 21 accepted,Rangpo saw 2 rejected out of 25.2 Rejected are from Mandi Bazar ward and from Chanatar ward.
In West District Gayzing Under Municipal Returning Officer ,Karma Bonpo all the nominations have been found valid.In South District 2 candidates have returned uncontested from Lower Ghurpisey and Purano Namchi , in the office of M.Bharni Kumar Municipal Returning Officer South,35 other nominations were also scrutinized and found valid.
In the office of Municipal Returning officer ,North Tenzing T Kaleon all the 11 nominations have been found valid and One candidate has returned uncontested from Pentok.
The last date of withdrawals is 11th March’21 and Election is scheduled for 31st March ’21.
