Satyadev Narayan Arya takes oath as 19th governor of Tripura

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, senior ministers of the state cabinet, speaker and top officials of the administration have attended the ceremonial function.

Agartala: The Chief Justice of the High Court of Tripura Akil Kureshi administered the oath of office to 84 years old Satyadev Narayan Arya as 19th governor of Tripura on Wednesday at Darbar Hall of historical Puspabanta palace in the city in a simple ceremony maintaining Covid protocol.

Besides, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, senior ministers of the state cabinet, speaker and top officials of the administration have attended the ceremonial function. While introducing the stakeholders, the Governor urged for cooperation from all concerns to continue the development of Tripura with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Satyadev Narayan Arya has been transferred from Haryana and replaced Ramesh Bais here who has taken oath as Governor of Jharkhand today. Arya was a leader of BJP and former Minister of Mines and Geology of Bihar. He is an eight-time winning Member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly from Rajgir constituency. He is a post-graduate in arts and a law graduate from Patna University.
