Churachandpur: With the objectives of achieving saturation of welfare schemes, facilitating fresh registrations, correcting records, redressing grievances and ensuring timely delivery of benefits, the District Administration, Churachandpur, organised the Jan Kalyan Shivir welfare campaign today. The campaign was held at multiple venues across the district, including YPA Hall, Hiangtam Lamka; Muolvaiphei Community Hall, Muolvaiphei; C. Tuiveljang village; Suangdoh village; Tuilaphai Community Hall, Henglep; and the Tuibong SDO Office, Kholmun.
The programme at YPA Hall, Hiangtam Lamka, was attended by Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar, ADC Seiminthang Lenthang, Dr. Pricilla C. Ngaihte, Public Policy Specialist, NITI Aayog, Hiangtam Lamka village chief Thangkhosuanmung Guite, district-level officers, community leaders, line department representatives, and prospective beneficiaries.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner said the camps are people-centric, offering free facilities including basic medical help desks, while ensuring effective outreach and saturation of welfare and beneficiary-oriented schemes of the Central and State Governments. He noted that the JKS camps are designed as a convergent, single-window platform to bridge the gap between intended beneficiaries and various welfare schemes, urging citizens to visit the stalls set up by different departments to avail themselves of the services.
Dr. Pricilla C. Ngaihte, in her remarks, highlighted the difficulties often faced by citizens in accessing government services due to documentation requirements and procedural hurdles. She emphasized that the camps provide an opportunity to access multiple services under one roof and encouraged beneficiaries to make optimum use of the facilities provided by line departments.
At Tuilaphai, the Hon’ble MLA of Henglep AC, Letzamang Haokip attended the camp and distributed saplings, pesticides, and other agricultural plant nutrients in the presence of Mangminthang Gangte, SDO, Henglep.
As part of the programme, agricultural plant nutrients, tribe and caste certificates, and saplings were distributed to beneficiaries. The Health Department also conducted a free health camp to provide medical assistance to attendees. In addition, IEC sessions were held at the camp sites to create awareness about the different welfare and beneficiary-oriented schemes of the Central and State Governments.
