Saturday sees 5 deaths, 275 positive cases, 332 recoveries in Manipur

The 5 persons who succumbed to the deadly virus are from Imphal West, Bishnupur, Tengnoupal, Churachandpur and Ukhrul . The cumulative death toll in the state with these 5 deaths now stands at 1,775.

Imphal: Manipur reported 5  Covid related deaths, 275 new positive cases (273 the general population, 2CAPF)and 332 recoveries in the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Saturday, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.

The 5 persons who succumbed to the deadly virus are from Imphal West, Bishnupur, Tengnoupal, Churachandpur and Ukhrul . The cumulative death toll in the state with these 5 deaths now stands at 1,775.

Three of those who succumbed had co-morbidities while two of them had been vaccinated with the 1st dose.

The 275 persons (119 males, 154 females) from the general population who tested positive include 136 from Imphal West, 39 from Imphal East, 17 from Tamenglong, 15 each from Churachandpur and Kakching, 14 from Bishnupur, 11 from Ukhrul, 10 from Thoubal, 7 from Kangpokpi,2 each from Chandel and Pherzawl and 1 from Tengnoupal.

Altogether, 2,907 persons were tested amounting to a positivity rate of 9.50 %.  

Meanwhile, 332 persons were discharged which include 129 from home isolation, 114 from CCCs, 77 from CHICs, 7 from JNIMS and 5 from RIMS.

The recovery rate in the state further improves to 95.40 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,12,941 (General Population – 1, 08,837, Central Security Personnel – 4,104). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 1, 07,742 (General Population – 1, 03,665, Central Security Personnel – 4,077). The number of active cases is 3,424 (General Population – 3,402, Personnel – 22).

The total number of persons vaccinated on August 27, 2021 is 7,782 and the cumulative number vaccination is 15,11,675 ( 1st dose 11,83,466, 2nd dose 3,28,209)

The total number of vacant hospital beds available in the state as on August 28, is 471 which include 391 general beds and 80 ICU/HDU beds.

The total number of beds available in Covid Care Centers in the state on August 28 is 3547 out of which 738 are occupied and 2809 are vacant.
