Sanjay Arora is new Delhi Police Commissioner

In pursuance of the said approval, Sanjay Arora is appointed as Commissioner of Police, Delhi with effect from August 1, it added.

New Delhi: Sanjay Arora, a Tamil Nadu cadre Indian Police Service Officer of 1988, has been appointed as the Commissioner of Police, Delhi on August 1, the Ministry of Home Affairs said in an order on Sunday.

Arora will succeed the current Delhi Police Commissioner, Rakesh Asthana. He is currently serving as the DG-ITBP.

The order from MHA said the approval of the Competent Authority for inter-cadre deputation of Sanjay Arora, IPS, 1988 batch from Tamil Nadu Cadre to AGMUT Cadre.

In pursuance of the said approval, Sanjay Arora is appointed as Commissioner of Police, Delhi with effect from August 1, it added.
