Salai’s Narengbam Samarjit arrested at Delhi aiport

Imphal: Founder of Salai Holdings Private Ltd, Narengbam Samarjit has been arrested at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi Thursday morning.

On Tuesday, the National Investigation Agency filed a charge-sheet against two separatist leaders including Samarjit from Manipur, who had in 2019 announced the launch of the “Manipur government-in-exile” and declared the state’s independence from India.

Besides Yamben Biren and Narengbam Samarjit Singh, the agency also filed the charge-sheet also against their associates Narengbam Biswajit Singh, Elangbam Brojendro Singh and Akoijam Deepa Anand, they said.

Reports said the former head of Salai Holdings was travelling from London in an Air India flight that landed in Delhi on Wednesday morning. He was also planning to fly out of Delhi and reach Imphal in another AI flight scheduled to land at Imphal airport on Thursday morning.
