Rs 5 lakh in cash disappear from Currency Note printing press in Nashik

A bundle of Rs 500 currency notes was found missing by the printing press staff in February, following which, an internal inquiry committee was also being formed to look into the matter.

Nashik: The city police have registered a case against unidentified people for allegedly stealing Rs five lakh in cash from a printing press in the Jail Road area here.
A bundle of Rs 500 currency notes was found missing by the printing press staff in February, following which, an internal inquiry committee was also being formed to look into the matter.
In the second week of February, the management noticed that a bundle of Rs 500 currency notes was missing from the printing press. Since then, 10 bundles of Rs 500 notes had gone missing. Immediately after that, the management launched an investigation into the theft.
Meanwhile, a fact-finding committee set up to investigate the matter completed all the inquiries in last five months. The committee members rushed to the Upnagar police station and lodged a complaint on Tuesday (July 13) about disappearance of Rs five lakh in cash from Nashik‘s Currency Note Press.
