Ramesh Chennithala tweeted that “The disrespect shown by Union Minister @SmritiIrani towards a senior parliamentarian like Mrs. Sonia Gandhi is against all parliamentary norms. The minister should remember that it’s the floor of the house and not an election rally https://t.co/2Z4oCf8OKo.”

The former Kerala Home Minister said this while responding to the war of words that erupted between Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Union Minister Smriti Irani over Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury who called President Droupadi Murmu “Rashtrapatini”.
