Telangana BJP supporters burns effigy of Sonia Gandhi

Hyderabad: Protest against Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury’s remarks on President Draupadi Murmu spread to Telangana state where effigies of Sonia Gandhi were burnt at various places on Thursday by the BJP leaders in the state.

Strongly condemning the remarks made by Congress MP against the President, State party president Bandi Sanjay Kumar demanded an unconditional public apology from the Congress leader.

The Congress MP’s comment reflected the party’s lack of respect for the SC/STs, he added.

Raising slogans against Chodhury’s comment, some of the BJYM activists tried to rush towards Congress Party headquarters Gandhi Bhavan but the police prevented them and later the activists led by their President Hussain Nayak burnt the effigy of Sonia Gandhi on Exhibition grounds in the city.
Demanding to sack Choudhury from the congress party for his disrespectful comments against the newly elected President Draupadi, BJP leaders led by Karimnagar district President G.Krishna Reddy burnt an effigy of Sonia Gandhi.

Demanding criminal action against the Congress leader, Mahankali Secunderabad district President Syamsunder Goud burnt an effigy of Sonia.
Similar protests and the burning of an effigy of Sonia Gandhi were also reported from Narayanpet, Medak, Hanumkonda, Sangareddy, Vikarabad, and Ranga Reddy Urban districts.
