Imphal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Manipur on January 4 and announce various projects and schemes for the state, Chief Minister N Biren Singh said on Saturday.
“He is likely to come. Preparations are on. But the visit is not confirmed yet,” the Chief Minister said.
Beautification work was going on day and night around Hapta Kangjeibung, Imphal East district, where the Prime Minister is scheduled to address a public meeting.
Security has also been beefed up around the area.
N Biren said he has seen criticisms from various quarters over the alleged failure of BJP leaders and workers to follow COVID restrictions.
He said people should continue to follow the restrictions as there is a confirmed Covid Omicron case in the state.
