Agartala: The Trinamool Congress on Tuesday accused PrimeMinister Narendra Modi of pushing “thousands of lives into danger” andturning Tripura into a “Covid manufacturing hub” by holding a mammothrally here where “no Covid protocol was followed”.
Modi addressed the public meeting at Swami Vivekananda Stadium here onthe occasion of inaugurating new integrated terminal of MBB airportand launching the education project Mission 100 and a doorstep servicedelivery scheme.
The TMC’s Twitter handle also attacked Tripura Chief Minister BiplabKumar Deb who was present at Modi’s function.
The party posted: “PM is pushing thousands of lives into danger!Turning Tripura into a Covid Manufacturing Hub, does the PM reallythink he is capable of protecting people? Shame on @narendramodi ji.Shame on @BjpBiplab for toying with peoples’ lives.”
TMC state convener Subal Bhowmik slammed the Prime Minister fordragging the public into danger by holding such rallies where noprotocol of Covid was followed. The PM was “misguided with falseinformation and fabricated facts” about the development and peoples’sentiment by the Chief Minister for his personal gain and to remain inthe chair, Bhowmik pointed out.
“There has been no mentionable development in Biplab Deb’s regime,other than large scale violence and vendetta politics perpetrated notonly on the opposition supporters and leaders, but also on his ownparty leaders and MLAs who are pointing fingers at Deb’s misrule.
There was no spontaneous presence of people in PM’s rally. Ratheremployees, students and daily wagers have been forced to fill theground, which clearly markS the beginning of the end of THE BJP inTripura,” he underlined.
He also shared purported images of office memos of the LabourDirectorate and the Tripura Institute of Technology (TIT), whereinstaff, faculty members and students were advised to attend the PM’spublic meeting.
Earlier, in a separate tweet TMC said, “All staff members & officialsof Labour Directorate and West District Labour Office, Agartala are toattend Modi ji’s event. Is Mr @narendramodi SO INSECURE? Is his fadingpopularity glaring back at him? Clearly, HE DOES NOT CARE about thenumber of lives he’s putting at risk!”
TMC further said that the Biplab Deb government in Tripura hassuspended classes to enable students to attend the PM’s programme andtweeted, “HYPOCRISY of Mr @narendramodi EXPOSED! Will education andsafety of students NEVER be a priority for Mr Modi? Classes remainsuspended so that students can attend Modi Ji’s programme.”
