Shimla:People shivered without power and road connectivity on Monday as windstorm and heavy snowfall disrupted normal life in Himachal Pradesh.
According to the state diaster Management authority spokesperson, as many as 2223 distribution Transformer Regions are groping without power in the bone-chilling coldwave forcing People to remain indoors and sit by fireplaces.
Shimla district which recorded moderate snowfall after five hours of windstorm on Sunday night and Monday morning as a large number of DTRs were nn-functional. Similar are the scenes in other districts.
In all 481 roads and three National Highway are cut off, as vehicular traffic came to a standstill. Road communication of Rohru, Jubbal Kotkhai and Chopal have also been hampered due to snowfall. 112 roads are blocked in Rohru and 20 in Chopal Subdivision.
Local people and tourists have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel in case of snowfall.
