Pakistan PM Imran Khan tests Covid-19 positive

"PM Imran Khan has tested positive for Covid-19 and is self-isolating at home," Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Dr Sultan informed through Twitter.

Islamabad:  Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Saturday, just two days after he was administered the first shot of Chinese coronavirus vaccine Sinopharm.

“PM Imran Khan has tested positive for Covid-19 and is self-isolating at home,” Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Dr Sultan informed through Twitter.

At the time of his vaccination, the premier had appealed to the nation to ensure full implementation of SOPs in view of the third wave of the pandemic.

Pakistan on Saturday recorded 3,876 fresh cases of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours, the highest in eight months while at least 42 succumbed to the virus in the same period.
