One more held in Q Net scam in Odisha

Investigation revealed that the accused persons have duped 31 investors by collecting Rs 1.2 crore from them with the assurance of very high returns and failed to provide the assured returns for which the money was invested.

Bhubaneswar: Economic Offence Wing (EOW) Bhubaneswar has arrested one more accused in the Q Net scam.

EOW sources here Tuesday said one Arabinda Kumar, the accused of Palal village under Derabashis Police station of Kendrapara district was arrested on Monday under section 406/420/467/468/471/120-B IPC, R/W Sec4,5,6 of prize Chits and money circulation schemes (Banning) Act 1978 and Sec 6 of Odisha Protection of Interest of Depositors Act 2011.

The accused is being forwarded to the court of Presiding officer, OPID Court, Cuttack Tuesday.

Earlier in the case, four accused persons— Sarat Kumar Parida, Debabrata Harichandan, Chandan Kumar Mohali and Prashant Kumar Mohanty were arrested.
