One death reported after days of lull in Manipur

Imphal: After days of no reports of any Covid-19 related deaths in Manipur, a 70-year-old male resident of Churachandpur expired at Shija Hospital in the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Wednesday. The state’s cumulative fatality count now stands at 374.

During the same period, 10 persons (5males and 5 females) tested Covid-19 positive. Three of these are from Imphal West and two each from Imphal East, Churachandpur and Kangpokpi  and one from Tamenglong, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room. The recovery rate now stands at 98.54%.

Meanwhile, Health Department has instructed air passengers who traveled to the state on March 23, 2021 by the Indigo flight 6E-2019 (Delhi-Imphal) in rows 1-9 and in rows 0-15 to inform Covid Control Room 1800343818 or respective District Surveillance Officer (DSO).

The cumulative number of positive cases is 29,362 (General Population — 25,920 and Central Security Personnel — 3,442). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 28,935 (General Population — 25,506 and CAPF— 3,429). The number of active cases is 53 (general population 44 and CAPF 9).

As per the latest information, the number of people vaccinated on March 23, is 1056 and the cumulative vaccination number is 83092, the release added.

The total number of health care workers who have been vaccinated is 31228 which include the Directors of RIMS and JNIMS, CMOs, DFWOs DIOs of districts, chairman cum managing directors of Shija Hospital and Babina Diagnostics’.

There are no severe reactions/allergies, adverse events following immunization till date. There were 47 mild reactions who were on home care and all of them have now fully recovered.
