One death, 425 positive cases, 294 recoveries Saturday in Manipur

The lone person who succumbed to the deadly virus is from Imphal East, he had co-morbidities and had taken the 2nd dose Covid vaccine. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 2038.

Imphal: Manipur reported one Covid-related death, 425 positive cases (415 general population, 10 CAPF) and 294 recoveries In the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Saturday, as per an official release from the Health Department.

Of the 415 persons from the general population who tested positive, 187 are from Imphal West, 98 from Imphal East, 31 from Churachandpur, 29 from Thoubal, 19 from Bishnupur, 11 from Kakching, 10 from Tameglong, eight from Chandel, six from Ukhrul, five from Kangpokpi, four from Senapati, three from Tengnoupal and two from Jiribam. Altogether, 2,615 persons were tested amounting to a positivity rate of 16.3 %.

Meanwhile, 294 persons recovered and were discharged, 168 from home isolation, 100 from CCCs, six from RIMS and 20 from JNIMS. The recovery rate of the state stands at 95.50 %. 

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 32,581 out of which 1,26,609 have recovered, leaving 3,934 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on January 28, 2022, is 11,948, the cumulative number of doses administered is 24,79,919 (1st dose 14,13,057, 2nd dose 10,42,114) and precautionary 24,748.

There is a total of 300 Covid beds in JNIMS, out of which 72 are occupied while 228 are vacant while in RIMS there are 190 Covid beds, out of which 45 are occupied and 145 are vacant.
