Kohima: The Naga People’s Front (NPF) on Sunday announced the names of six more candidates for the upcoming Nagaland Assembly election.

Paty President Shurhozelie Liezietsu made the announcement at its central office here. The party has so far fielded 22 contestants, and more candidates were expected to be declared on Monday.

On Sunday, NPF had made public the names of 16 candidates for the 60-member House.

According to a release issued by the NPF Press Bureau, Shurhozelie said the party was facing a temporary setback and would not contest all the 60 seats. He said many party ticket seekers have approached the leadership for nomination, but only the best ones would be fielded.

The Leader of the NPF Legislature Party Kuzholuzo Nienu in his speech regretted that the Nagas were victims of dirty politics now when money has become the commander of the people.
