Newly elected Nagaland Assembly member takes oath

Keoshu was the only candidate to file nomination for the by-election and declared elected uncontested on October 13, on the last date for withdrawal of candidature, sources said.

Kohima: The newly-elected member of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly S Keoshu Yimchunger of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) and consensus candidate of the United Democratic Alliance took the oath as the member of the Nagaland Assembly yesterday.

According to official sources, Nagaland Legislative Assembly Speaker Sharingain Longkumer has administered the oath of office to S Keoshu Yimchunger was declared elected unopposed to the state Assembly for the by-election to the Shamator-Chessore Assembly Constituency under Tuensang district.

Keoshu was the only candidate to file nomination for the by-election and declared elected uncontested on October 13, on the last date for withdrawal of candidature, sources said.
