Imphal: Nestle’ India Friday apologized and admitted an error in one of the packs celebrating wildlife where Manipur’s Keibul Lamjao National Park was depicted wrongly as a national park of Meghalaya.

“We got it wrong with the location of one of the packs celebrating wildlife and we sincerely apologize for this unintentional error,” said a statement by the company.

“We are launching two new packs as soon as possible to bring to light the beauty of these destinations. These packs celebrate Keibul Lamjao National Park, Manipur and Balpakram National Park, Meghalaya. We thank you for your understanding and support,” a spokesperson of Nestlé India told The North East Affairs.

The Gurgaon-based food and beverage giant, in the wrapper of its chocolate brand – KitKat, had incorrectly mentioned that the Keibul Lamjao National Park (KLNP) is located in Meghalaya.

Following this the Manipur Forest Department, taking a strong exception had written to Suresh Narayanan – CMD, Head Office Nestle House in Gurgaon, to clarify its mistake and take necessary precautions to prevent such incidents in the future.
