Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra on Monday described the Congress’ ‘Maun vrat’ (vow of silence) as sheer political drama over the Lakhimpur Kheri incident.

“Why is that party and the Gandhi family silent over gruesome killings in the Kashmir Valley?” he told journalists here.

Dr Mishra said that strict action would be taken against those playing with religious sentiments in this state.

“It is a grave issue that has been taken seriously by the government. I consider these incidents objectionable and warn such people. The Superintendent of Police, Ujjain, has been directed to have a first information report registered against a woman who made a video on the Mahakaleshwar temple premises,” he added.
