Nagaland records 82 new COVID cases

With no report of death in COVID related to the pandemic in the state, the death count remained at 703.

Kohima: Nagaland recorded 82 new cases, increasing the overall Coronavirus count in the state to 32,916, a state health bulletin said on Monday.

With no report of death in COVID related to the pandemic in the state, the death count remained at 703.

According to the official bulletin, out of 82 fresh COVID cases on Sunday in Nagaland, 72 cases were reported in Dimapur and 10 in Kohima.

According to the official bulletin, 31 of the fresh cases were detected by self-testing and random sampling, 43 were returnees from outside the state, one from the security forces personnel, six were from traced contacts and four were frontline workers. The total caseload of the state on Sunday was 32,916.

Altogether 12 patients recovered in Nagaland on Sunday. With this, 30,507 patients have recovered from the infection in Nagaland so far, Of them, 23 patients from Dimapur and one patient from Kohima on Sunday, with a recovery rate of 92.68 per cent.

The number of active Covid cases in the state stood at 457 on Sunday; out of whom 421 were asymptomatic, 35 mild and one moderate on oxygen. District-wise distribution of active cases – Dimapur (381), Kohima (48), Tuensang (16), Mokokchung and Peren (both five), and two in Phek.
