Kohima: In the latest COVID-19 situation in Nagaland, the number has increased to 52 new cases yesterday, which increased the total number of corona virus-infected cases to 30,959 so far and with three more deaths, the death toll rose up to 656.
According to a Nagaland Health Department bulletin today, among the 52 fresh COVID cases yesterday, the new cases were detected from seven districts of Nagaland with 27 cases in Kohima followed by 19 cases in Dimapur, four in Mokokchung and two in Phek, taking the total caseload to 30,959. A total of 27 cases were detected among traced contacts, 22 from self-tests and random tests, two from travellers from outside the state and one from armed forces or security personnel.
On the recovery of COVID-19 patients in the State, 43 recovered yesterday, 33 positive patients from Dimapur, five from Kohima, four in Mokokchung and one in Wokha, taking the number of such cases to 28,878, with a recovery rate of 93 per cent.
The state currently has 470 active cases in the state out of which 368 are asymptomatic, a total of 74 cases are mild symptomatic and four are moderate on oxygen with severe symptoms, 16 are receiving oxygen support, five are admitted in ICUs without a ventilator and three are in the ICU on ventilator support. With three more patients dying from the pandemic two in Dimapur and one in Kohima, the death toll remained at 656, the bulletin said.
